Two Nations Theory- Whose Brainchild Is It, Who Adopted It and Who Nurtured It? Time to Decide?
Though ancient wisdom, like Bhishma’s counsel, warned against dividing the motherland, India’s partition was ultimately driven by colonial manipulation and the ideological groundwork laid by figures like Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and later Jinnah. The Two-Nation Theory, rooted in communal identity and reinforced by political opportunism, challenged the vision of a united India and reshaped its destiny.
The creeping return of religion-based quotas under the garb of backwardness not only distorts Dr. Ambedkar’s foundational warnings but also risks unraveling the very spirit of secularism. As Karnataka and Telangana push the envelope, the question confronting India today is stark: Should such political opportunism be allowed?
This is an endless script - a forced disappearance, months of silence, a staged killing. The names change, but the story remains the same. Family members are initially silenced with fear, but inevitably join the ranks of the activists and protestors, and become easy targets as they are already on the State’s radar.
